Our olive groves are located in the province of Barcelona, in the heart of the Alt Penedès region. Characterized by the Mediterranean climate (dry summers and mild winters), the Penedès is the perfect spot to produce olive oil, wine, and cava. The territory encompasses soft plains with low altitude hills and is surrounded by medium height mountain chains that work as a natural defence mechanism against strong winds.
Every October and November, our family comes together to harvest the olives of our fields by hand. The harvest begins as soon as the olives start to acquire a deep violet hue. Pressing the olives at this moment gives our olive oil an interesting twist and a higher quality. To obtain an olive oil of exceptional quality, we transport our olives to a nearby mill where they are cold-pressed within a few hours of their harvest. It is a laborious task but carries a very rewarding result, a balanced and delicious olive oil.
This organic extra virgin olive oil is the result of a natural cold-press blend of our olive tree varieties Arbequina, Arbosana and Koroneiki. The final product is a more complex olive oil that combines and intensifies the various attributes contained in the three varieties. The globally appreciated Arbequina and Arbosana varieties, which originate in our vicinity, bring a delicate and fruity sensation to our oil. Meanwhile, the Koroneiki olives are responsible for a more robust and peppery flavour caused by their higher level of polyphenols. The latest also include a wide range of health benefits, as well as giving a longer life to our olive oil thanks to its antioxidants.
